Pegacorn Girls Toy Concept Pitch Art

Artwork for an original girls' toy product line concept I pitched in June 2012.
This shows two characters from a potentially much larger series with a mythological/anthropomorphic theme. I have concept sketches for other characters in this line but this is the most finished example of art I made for the pitch.

My pitch was received with much interest from a U.S. toy company and I was encouraged to develop it further but sadly it was ultimately dropped. I'm not actually sure of the specific reasons for this but the department seemed to change their minds, perhaps they pursued another pitch for development that they preferred.

UPDATE
I've recently discovered the My Little Pony franchise has developed something spookily similar to this concept in the form of their Equestria Girls. Bizarre coincidence or otherwise (I don't know which version came first or if there's any way Hasbro may have seen and taken influence from my designs), it's unlikely that my Pegacorn Girls idea will get a look-in for any further development now. The devil farts in my face once again... oh well! Another one to put down to experience.
