Artist's Comments
A piece of artwork I did for Socratic Ideas [link] on the theme of good vs. evil in a religious sense, for use as a DVD cover. I was really pleased with how this one came out, especially for its epic, almost neo-classical feel. My favourite part is the demon/devil - I'm chuffed with his design in the way that the physics of it look believeable (like the musculature, beast-like elements and the way the light shines through the skin of his wings... woo ^_^) but at the same time surreal (is that a mask or his real face? Spooky)...
Father Christmas is saying to the devil "You've been a very naughty boy, that's the last time you interrupt me in the shower. No presents for you this year!"  Just kidding, I expect you already gathered that's supposed to be a classical sort of God representation at the top. Very Old Testament, dig the beard.  There's more Socratic Ideas art where this came from, so I'll probably put some more of it up soon.  |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
